    The Collective Global Accelerator is a 4-week immersive, residential experience at our co-living community The Collective Old Oak, in London. CGA 2017 brings together 10 dreamers and inspired solvers with unique skill sets, experiences, and passions, and empowers them to scale the impact of their social start-up on the world. Specifically, CGA exists to help social startups (not-for-profit and for-profit) that create opportunities for people in need in communities all over the world.

    Speakers and Workshops

    Learn from experts, industry leaders and thought leaders in London about business development, design thinking, fundraising, marketing, sales, community management, measuring impact and much more. Weekly workshops and speakers will give you the tools to become a better entrepreneur.


    Get matched with a personal mentor, with whom you will set your personal goals and aspirations. Together, you will create a strategy how to achieve your dreams. Even after CGA, your mentor will coach you for at least 1 year after the programme ends, to give you feedback and check in with you.


    The Collective Old Oak is a co-living community in London. Be part of the community for 4 weeks and enjoy all it has to offer - creative and ambitious people, inspiring spaces and a place where you will work together with other participants to truly make a difference.


    The Collective Foundation sponsors all participants' stay during the programme.

    Investor Pitch event

    The 4-week journey concludes with a fundraising event, which will be attended by a small group of impact investors. After our training, you will be more than ready to pitch your business in front of people who are rooting for you, and have the means to help you scale your impact.

    What are the dates of the Collective Global Accelerator (CGA) 2017?

    The CGA 2017 programme is scheduled for August 7th - September 4th, 2017.

    Did I get accepted to the programme?

    We sent the e-mail to inform everyone of their application status on Saturday, May 6th. It might be in your Spam folder. We have heard from multiple people, however, that they have not gotten an e-mail at all, so our sincere apologies for this technical error.

    How much does the programme cost?

    The CGA programme is a fully-funded experience by The Collective Foundation and covers flight expenses to and from London, local travel in London, accommodation for 4 weeks and an allowance to spend on meals and minimal expenses during your stay.


    If you are unable to meet the costs of travel to and from your local airport, or your visa application to the U.K., please let us know and we will see what we can do for you.

    What is expected of me during and after attending the CGA?

    As a participant in the CGA, we expect you to maintain full attendance during the whole 4-week programme, participate in all official programme activities, bring an open and positive attitude towards your fellow participants and The Old Oak community, and become an active member of the CGA's alumni network of social entrepreneurs and innovators.


    We hope you realise that starting and scaling a social start-up requires a lot of hard work. While we expect you to commit to this difficult, but rewarding journey - we want you to know that we will be there for you every step of the way.

    How many participants attend the CGA?

    There will be 10 participants in the 2017 CGA.

    Since this will be our first cohort, we would like to kickstart the programme with a small group of people, to be able to create the most value for them as possible.


    Being part of the first cohort means that you are making CGA history!

    Can I e-mail my application or additional documents?

    Due to the large amount of applications we receive, it is unfortunately not possible to send in your application or any additional documents such as pitch decks, business proposals and reference letters by e-mail. It would be impossible for us to keep track - we hope you understand.

    Where is the CGA held?

    The CGA is held at The Collective Old Oak in London,
    a co-living community with 500 residents. The building is home to the creative and ambitious and provides inspiring communal spaces where you will work together with your fellow participants and engage with the Old Oak community.

    Are teams allowed to apply?

    We only cover expenses for individuals to join the programme. If you are selected and would like to bring your co-founder, you'd have to cover additional expenses for your co-founder yourself.

    What is the CGA weekly experience like?

    We are currently finalizing the weekly schedules, so we can't give away any details yet.


    On a weekly basis, you can expect to listen to inspiring speakers, receive workshops that will give you helpful knowledge and tools for life, attend network events, meet our partners, work on your start-up with your fellow participants, the Old Oak community and your mentor, and of course, there is some room for downtime.


    The CGA experience will be intense, immersive, and unforgettable. In 4 weeks, you will have made friends for life, who will you support your journey as a changemaker long after the programme.

    What is the attendance policy for CGA?

    If you have a scheduling conflict between August 7th and September 4th 2017 that will prevent you from attending the whole programme, please do not submit your application.


    Private and professional engagements such as holidays, conferences and events during this period are no excuse - we expect that you prioritise your commitment to the CGA once you are selected and have confirmed your attendance.

    There are a few permittable excused absences during the programme: death or serious illness of a family member, personal illness, birth of a child, medical needs of a child for whom you are a primary caretaker, your wedding day or that of a family member, required military service or jury duty that cannot be postponed, and events honoring you with significant award or recognition.


    Please contact the Director of the CGA if anything hinders your full attendance to the programme.

    Once I'm selected, how do I confirm my spot in the CGA?

    Once you receive your acceptance e-mail, we will send you our formal participant agreement that you can sign digitally. You have 1 week to accept the offer to attend before your place will be offered to someone else.

    Will The Collective fund my start-up?

    At the end of the CGA, we will host an Investor Pitch event in an intimate setting, which will give you the opportunity to pitch your start-up to impact investors and raise funds.


    The funds will be raised through The Collective Foundation and you will receive 100% of the funds. Therefore, The Collective does not directly invest in your start-up, nor take any equity. You can ask the attending investors to grant your start-up a donation or make an equity investment.
